What We Do

Finding and engaging with trusted people is a major pain point, especially when it comes to tasks for the people and things you care about the most.

Kumbaya App allows parents to communicate and collaborate with people they trust to exchange help (e.g., playdate, ride, babysitting, pet care, etc.).

Help from the people you

trust

How Kumbaya App Works

1-Install Kumbaya App

Kumbaya App is available on both iOS and Android. You can sign-up with your Facebook or Gmail account. Your privacy is our priority. For additional security steps we also verify your phone number.

2-Invite your friends

Click on the "GoTo" Lists tab and start inviting your friends. Once they download the app, you can create your "GoTo" List and name it according to your specific needs (e.g. Ben's Basketball Team, Dan's Daycare, Ella Playdate etc.). It is not a group and you are not inviting  people to join, rather it is a list only for you to see.

3-Create A Request

You can create a request with all the relevant details by pressing directly on your "GoTo" List or from the activity tab. You can add comments, family members, location, time, and "GoTo" Lists.

4-Send & Broadcast your Request

When broadcasting a request to a "GoTo" List, members in that list are not aware of each other. Once a member accepts your request, that request either disappears from the rest or they receive a 'Task was Taken' pop-up

5-Confirmed Request

Once the request is confirmed by one of your "GoTo" List people, you receive a notification with all relevant details. You can contact your "GoTo" List member, add the event to your calendar, and edit information all in one place.

6-Pay It Forward Get It Back

A balance displays your historical activities so next time when you get a help notification, you can pay it forward.

Our Story

One night while enjoying a family dinner together, we talked about how, while living among close and great friends, we may still feel unsupported and sometimes distant. We feel this especially when asking for something unexpected, and as a result feel helpless.

We shared how crazy it was that we’re surrounded by people we trust, yet we feel uncomfortable and guilty asking them for help. On the other hand, we really want to help our friends out when they need us the most, but we don’t always know how or when.

“If I had an easy way of asking the people I trust for help, I would be much calmer, less anxious and more focused on my daily life.” Well, this wish was our command - and it became our mission and passion.

Kumbaya was born from a strong need and a deep understanding that to get by in today’s crazy world we must tap into our existing resources and help each other out. Kumbaya is here to help us parents cope with those daily challenges and make asking for help as simple as 3 clicks.
